The number of kids having kids in the city is down 27 percent over the past ten years, according to new numbers, which also indicate less participation in the activity that typically comes before the pregnancy part. Teen births are hovering around 19,000 per year, down from nearly 25,000 in 2001, while those reporting sexual activity dropped from 51 percent to 38 percent over the same time period. In our completely unscientific opinion, Teen Mom is a very affecting television show.
