The mullet dress made its triumphant return to the red carpet on Sunday night at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. Kerry Washington stepped out in a black-and-yellow Michael Kors creation, which has us rethinking the hi-lo hemline frocks that were all the rage a few years ago.
It's no surprise that the "Scandal" actress, who happens to be one of our favorite style stars, took such a sartorial risk for the big night. We've seen the 36-year-old wear head-to-toe floral, rock a horse printed gown and come dangerously close to looking clownish--but still remain utterly chic.
We think Kerry can count Sunday night's long-sleeved black mini dress/yellow taffeta gown as another sartorial win. You gotta have the guts and the gams to pull this look off and she has both. Plus Kerry kept the rest of her look simple with minimal makeup, a yellow clutch, a few gold accessories and a pair of black Roger Vivier square-toed heels.
