There’s something to be said for learning on the job, as Christina Hendricks can attest. She’s definitely picked up a few things from playing Joan on Mad Men, now in its sixth season.
“[I've learned] more about confidence and trusting your decisions,” she says in the May issue of Flare magazine. “And about pencil skirts, which I now have, like, 75 of. I was like, ‘Why didn’t I know about this skirt before?’”
But the star, who says she’s really more of a “caftans” girl in her downtime, doesn’t want to be limited to just the ’60s-appropriate clothes her character wears so well. One of the perks of being famous, she says, is that “I get to wear much prettier clothes than I used to and I really like that perk.”
Among her favorite things to wear? “There are definitely designers that I just love and I just know work really well with my figure,” she tells Flare. “L’Wren Scott, Vivienne Westwood, Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera. Those are designers that you’ll always see me wear again and again.”
