It's spring, right? Our calendar shows April 3rd, so the fact that temps are in the 40s is some kind of cruel joke. Despite sunny skies, the wind continues to cut through our clothes reminding us that sadly, winter isn't completely over yet.
So how to dress for this winter-ish/spring-ish mix? The key is mixing spring colors with winter fabrics. Jenna Lyons, president and CEO of J. Crew proved (as usual) adept at accomplishing this tricky formula.
The trend-setter attended the premiere of 'Trance' in New York City in an outfit that was appropriate for the season and the temperature. Her sleek pants, cozy turtleneck sweater and casually slung-over-the-shoulders coat provided warmth, while the color palette said, "Yes, it's April!"
Lyons' accessories really drove the point home. Her pastel clutch and shoes gave the look a touch of whimsy and complemented the pink and turquoise hues in her sweater and pants. We'll be copying this look ASAP.
