The highly anticipated 15th edition of Miami Fashion Week officially opened on Wednesday, with the presentation of renowned Brazilian designer Carlos Miele’s collection, in a special night where he was also honored with the organization’s International Designer of the Year Award.
On a night full of pure fashion, other Latin American designer like Fabrizio de Castro of Colombia, Julian Chang from Peru and Nicholas Felizola from Venezuela were also able to showcase their work.
Miele's collection featured vibrant colors like blue, yellow and pink, while alternating with other contrast tones like brown and white. However, black was definitely the most predominant component of the catwalk.
Most pieces had strapless or halter neck designs, as well as bright applications. Others on the other hand, added some freshness with transparencies and prints. The jumpsuits played an important role in this collection, as well as blazers and wide belts.
Directly from the Miami Beach Convention Center, the event -- that will continue until Sunday -- will showcase over 60 different designers’ collections, including Felizola Nicholas, who this year received the Miami Fashion Icon Award, Cynthia Rodriguez, and Lisu Vega, among others.
