You’re probably used to seeing Barbie Blank in a skimpy two-piece during her WWE Diva days as Kelly Kelly or barely-there string bikinis when she’s modeling for magazines like Maxim. But for her wedding to former professional hockey player Sheldon Souray, the WAGS star went into full-on princess mode in a mermaid style dress with a full, flared tulle skirt and train.

Blank told PeopleStyle, she’s been planning this day for so long that she knew exactly what type of dress she was after. “I knew how I wanted my wedding since I was a little girl. And I’ve always been about the bigger the better and this dress is so over the top in so many ways,” she shared. “I’m only getting married once so I thought, ‘Hey why not go big?'”

She was so focused on the type of look she wanted in fact, that she knew her Galia Lahav gown, featuring a lace form-fitting bodice with delicate shoulder straps and opulent mermaid-style skirt, was the one the second she tried it on.
“I went to a trunk show for Galia Lahav right after we got engaged just to go and look around and see what kind of dress I wanted,” Blank explained. “After trying on my third dress I knew I had found the one.”

In fact, her three besties she was shopping with — and the rest of the employees at boutique! — could not agree more.
“When I put on the dress and walked out of the dressing room the whole store turned around and look at me and they said that’s the one!”

As for her beauty look, she chose the best hairstyle to accent her gown. “I wanted my hair up because the dress is open back and is so beautifully detailed that I wanted everyone to see it so I wanted to go for something classy, elegant and timeless for my hair.”
She accented her hair and gown with dripping Rahaminov diamonds worn as a headband, bracelet and tear-drop necklace.

When it came to her makeup, however, understated was a key priority. “I wanted to go for a natural look… I want to look back in 50 years and have [the photos] look timeless.”
And we’d be remiss if we didn’t talk about her ginormous engagement ring, triple-band situation, which she tells us, was actually all chosen by Souray. “He picked all the rings including his. He has amazing taste so I leave that up to him.”

The pair wed in Cabo and picked the tropical locale because it was the sight that really started it all. “When me and Sheldon first started dating, our first trip together was to Cabo and we fell in love with it and have probably been there a dozen times since. Once we started talking about where we would get married we both said, ‘Cabo!'”
Though, she didn’t want to go with a theme that was too beach-focused. “I wanted it to be just magical with everyone in gowns and tuxedos so it definitely is not a beach theme even though it’s in Cabo.”
She really just wanted the overall ambiance to be centered around having fun, “We wanted everyone to feel like this is a celebration.” And some notable guests that were invited to partake in said fun? None other than supermodel Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber.
