Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg guest-edited the debut edition of Cosmopolitan's career-focused pullout.
Cosmo Careers debuted in the magazine's April issue. Sandberg appeared on the cover in addition to guest-editing the 40-page digest size pullout. The Facebook COO's new controversial book Lean In will hit shelves on Monday, March 11. She will also appear in an exclusive interview on Sunday's "60 Minutes" with "CBS This Morning" co-host Norah O'Donnell.
Speaking of Cosmo Careers debut issue, Sandberg said, "I wrote Lean in: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead to encourage women to believe in themselves so they can achieve their potential. This Cosmo Careers mini-mag will introduce you to my book and to the Lean In Community."
She added, "I'm excited to be working with Cosmo editor-in-chief Joanna Coles and a magazine that embraces the Fun, Fearless Female spirit. I have never guest-edited a magazine before, but I enjoyed the new challenge. I leaned in."
In what Sandberg described as a feminist manifesto, the Facebook COO argued in her book that women unintentionally hold themselves back from excelling in the workplace. The book has been met with both intense criticism and heavy praise.
The pullout will also feature an exclusive excerpt from Sandberg's book. The April issue of Cosmo is currently available on newsstands.
