Diagnosis: Fun idea, poor execution. There’s no doubt abs are in, but pulling the look off requires a healthy dose of effortlessness. The stripes, the pleats and the over-the-top makeup — plus the distinct impression that she’s clenching her stomach muscles for dear life — don’t give the look quite the “cool California girl” vibe it requires.
Prognosis: Fortunately Deeley has great style, so we know this can be saved with a little surgery. We say ditch the matchy top and add a boxy black cropped tee.
