The genius of designer collaborations is that they bring expensive, high-end designer styles to the masses at a more affordable price.
At least that's the logic, right? So imagine our disappointment when we read that Roland Mouret was launching a new collaboration line of dresses... that will each cost more than our monthly rent.
Roland Mouret for Couture Lab is a semi-couture collection, meaning that the dresses were handmade and in limited number, yet available online for anyone willing to pony up $7,000. According to Vogue UK, there are only four dress styles. Each uses vintage French lace so expensive and delicate that only three dresses of each style were created for a total of 12 dresses.
In other words, a rush for these babies would crash Couture Lab's website faster than you can say "Missoni for Target." But there probably won't be a rush, seeing as the cheapest dress of the collection goes for $6,984 and the most expensive rings in at $11,770.
Hold onto those credit cards, ladies. See the dresses below and click to CoutureLab.com if you're interested in actually buying one.
