Mary-Kate Olsen was spotted sporting a gold ring on her left ring finger Sunday, and rumors have been swirling about the accessory's implications for the designer, 26, and boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy, 43.
Whatever the case, the mere suggestion that the pint-size twin could be headed down the aisle anytime soon prompted us to take a look back at her past suitors.
Olsen and the younger brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy got together in May 2012, and have been packing on the PDA ever since. "MK is constantly complaining about boys not being mature enough for her," a source told Us Weekly last spring, explaining the age difference. "She got the kids out of her system. Now being a businesswoman dominates her time, and she is rarely impressed with guys."
Lowman, an artist whose specialty, according to Vanity Fair, is "reconciling the detritus of pop culture," met Olsen through mutual friends in 2008. They dated until 2010.
Olsen dated the photographer and oil heir, a relative of Uma Thurman's, for a bit circa 2006-2007.
When the Greek shipping heir moved on to Paris Hilton in 2005 after dating for several months, Olsen told W magazine, "I miss him and I love him and I don't speak with him anymore. It's a hurtful and painful subject. … This is a hard time for me." She added that she and Hilton were "not talking."
Olsen and the son of DreamWorks cofounder Jeffrey Katzenberg were together for about a year and split just before the "Full House" star began her stint at NYU in 2004. "It was a mutual parting of the ways and amicable," a source told People. "Being at different schools played a part. It's reasonable for her to start school fresh."
Before than, Olsen was with Max Winkler, the son of "Happy Days" star Henry Winkler. “I dated an Olsen twin because I was in love with an Olsen twin,” he told New York magazine when promoting his directorial debut in 2011. “But I wasn’t in love with her because she was ‘an Olsen twin.’ I just thought she was so pretty and smart and cute.”
