If Lindsay Lohan is really as hard-strapped for cash these days as some reports claim, then Cash for Purses has a solution.
Cash for Purses, a charitable company that offers bills for bags and recycles them for fundraising purposes, is reportedly offering to buy Lohan's used handbags, according to RadarOnline.com.
“I invited Lindsay Lohan to contact my company because we are a high-end and designer handbag buyer, and we’ll purchase her excess bags to help pay her bills,” the company’s founder and CMO, Trent Silver, told Radar. “Lindsay’s purses are equity. Many girls don’t even realize what they’re sitting on in their closet, but Lindsay can take advantage for a very fair payday.”
“If Lindsay wants to show her charitable side, we’re willing to work with her,” he added. “I’ll personally match the total value of all her bags and send it to a charity of her choice.”
It could be a windfall for the actress, who has a pink ostrich Hermes Birkin bag in her closet.
Back in December, TMZ reported that Lohan's storage locker -- containing designer clothes, family heirlooms and other personal items -- was set to be auctioned off because the "Canyons" actress had failed to pay a $16,000 debt.
That never happened, but since then the 26-year-old has reportedly been slapped with a $150,000 bill from attorney Shawn Holley, a $56,717.90 California tax lien and $40,000 due in unpaid wages to her former assistant.
Charlie Sheen attempt to alleviate some of Lohan's financial woes in November with a $100,000 check but it is doubtful that the "Anger Management" actor will come to the rescue again since the "Liz & Dick" star recently rejected his help.
According to TMZ, Sheen recently offered to mentor Lohan since he has been down a rough road himself, but the reckless starlet allegedly rebuffed the gesture. She supposedly doesn't believe in the "it takes one to know one" mantra.
