This year marked the model’s second time waling down the coveted catwalk, but her very first as an Angel and a segment opener. “It was very exciting but I was very nervous at the same time,” she tells PeopleStyle about opening a section. “But I had a lot of fun. And it was with Selena Gomez and she was so nice and interactive. So it felt good.”
In fact, her nerves were calm before hitting the stage because she got the “fan girl” moment out of her system backstage. “She [Gomez] hung out with us backstage for a little bit. She came up to me and said, ‘Hi,’ to me and gave me a hug. I totally fan-girled.”
But aside from hanging with mega-star celebs, her behind-the-scenes routine usually stays pretty chill. “I try not to think about things,” she explains. “I just focus on why I’m there and remind myself of how I got there and what I’m doing and not let all of the chaos get to me. I think that’s the most important thing.”

Adding, “I’m in a zone. When you’re standing in line, doing your thing, it’s about you in that moment. So I’m super unaware of what’s going on around me.” Just judging by these photos alone, that includes a lot of chaos. “There’s girls running backstage, taking wings off, putting wings on — it’s a huge spectacle.”
A spectacle she gets to experience all over again tonight when the show airs on CBS. “[Victoria’s Secret] has a huge viewing party and all the girls go and we watch on the big screen and scream when everyone comes on,” she shares. “It’s like a second Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.”

As far as the next career goal (as if getting wings by the age of 19 isn’t enough), Hill says she’s taking things easy. “I think I’m just gonna hang out and see what happens. That’s kind of what happened to me. I was just hanging out when they asked me to be a model and here I am. So that’s kind of my philosophy in life; I just go with the flow.”

That’s what I’m getting my sisters for Christmas — matching thermal PJ’s,” she says. “They’re super Christmas-y and super awesome. I’m even getting them for my mom and I’m making everyone wear them so we all match Christmas morning.”
