It's a tie! Pantone just announced the Color of the Year for 2016 — er, make that Colors of the Year, because for the first time, there are two: Rose Quartz (a blush tone) and Serenity (a light periwinkle blue).

"As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent," Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, explained in a statement. "Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace."

Relaxing, indeed! And clearly on-trend, as plenty of celebrities have already stepped out in the shades over the past few months. While Dakota Johnson, Jennifer Lopez, and Diane Kruger have worked the whisper-light pink, Carey Mulligan, Sienna Miller, and Miranda Kerr have been spotted in the pastel blue.
