You don't often pair Fox News with supermodels, but leave it to legend Carol Alt to break the mold.
Alt will be launching her own TV show on the Fox News Channel, reports The Hollywood Reporter, focusing on health and lifestyle tips. It's an unexpected move for Fox, which obviously tends towards the political side of things. But they've been working on expanding their lifestyle content, most memorably with the launch of Fox News M, an online lifestyle magazine.
Alt isn't exactly the hot model of the moment -- the American model rose to popularity in 1982 when she landed the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover and spent the rest of the decade fronting major ad campaigns and fashion magazines.
But like Janice Dickinson, Tyra Banks, Elle Macpherson and so many more veteran models, she's reinventing herself as a media-savvy guru, focusing in on her love of raw food and healthy eating.
Plus, she's already got some TV experience from "Celebrity Apprentice" and, um, this.
