Whitney Port’s wedding look, from her fern-adorned bun to her high-low gown, was all about her style. So it’s hardly a surprise that her wedding rings (yes, multiple) were equally unexpected. the newlywed, fresh from her honeymoon in Fiji, dished to PeopleStyle all about the design process — and how she can’t stop staring at them on her (or on her husband Tim Rosenman — “It’s kind of sexy in a weird way,” she says. “It feels really right and he looks so handsome with it!”).

Rosenman designed Port’s rose-gold, oval-shaped engagement ring with jeweler Ron Bensimon, so when it came time to design her wedding rings with Tacori, Port knew she wanted to complement her existing ring and to come up with something totally different. So she ended up doing both.
“I was lucky enough that I was able to design three of them — one that was bigger that I could wear on its own, and the other two that I could wear on either side of the engagement ring,” she says of the designs, which all featured pavé stones set along the band and from a top view (see the sketch below). “The big one was a ring that I had been dreaming of for a really long time; I love emerald cuts and when they’re all situated together like that, they look so cool and modern. The other two rings are really curvy and simple, kind of to frame the oval stone.”
And though it wasn’t specifically designed to pair with her engagement ring, Port’s currently wearing the band and ring together: “It’s a lot on one finger but I’m kind of into that right now; the more the better!” (How much are we talking? Between the baguettes and pavé stones, about 6.5 carats among the three rings.)
Tacori
Port also had some input into Rosenman’s ring (“He’s very no frills, ripped jeans. He’s not a fashion-y type person so he wanted something classic and understated”), from advising on the metal to choosing the signature Tacori design on the inside, but ultimately the most personal touches are engraved inside the band. “Mine says BFFAE and the date of our wedding,” Port shares, “and his from me says ‘Love Feelings,’ which is a cute thing we say to each other — like, ‘I’m having love feelings right now for you.'”

For her actual wedding look, Port wore her glitzy new jewels, as well as a “something old and something new” via her pearl earrings. “I wore one earring from Delfina Delettrez, who doesn’t make pairs — so I wore, on my right ear, this cool rose pearl earring and on my left ear I wore a pearl of Tim’s mom’s,” she says. And the rest of her look was similarly personalized.
After trying on dozens of dresses in bridal ateliers, “I just felt like nothing was me. Everything was very bride-y,” she says. “So I was doing my typical Pinterest surfing and I found Ashi. I looked up his designs and it was exactly the kind of look that I want. Very architectural, structural, modern dresses with a feminine edge to him, with all his beading and lace.” He sent multiple gowns to try on, she picked her favorite parts of them, sketches and muslins went back and forth and the finished product arrived. “I never thought that I’d wear something as heavy or intricate as I did, but I think with it being the short in the front, long in the back it had a fun, Whitney Eve element to it.”
