After more than 20 years designing wedding gowns, bridal guru Vera Wang has some words of advice for brides searching for their perfect dress: try on everything.
"A bride should look at everything she possibly can...just so she can experiment and see what makes her really feel beautiful or glamorous or classical or whatever she desires to be on that particular day," Wang said in a video posted on her website Thursday. "Choosing a dress, choosing china, picking a venue and all the hundreds of tasks a bride will face is, in the end, about who she is and who they are as a couple."
Wang also explained the impact adding color to her wedding gowns has had on her creative process (her Spring 2013 collection, for example, featured gowns in several shades of red).
"I felt it lent a certain romance and a certain beauty. It made me think about what I do in a freer, more creative, more inventive way," she said.
