Typically, once a high-fashion gown gets worn to a big awards show, it’s considered off the market (as in, no other celeb will pick it for another red carpet event). Especially when the star in question is a big-name, Oscar-nominated actress.
But that didn’t stop Chrissy Teigen from breaking out the same gold-and-black Alexander McQueen number Naomi Watts had worn back in January to the People’s Choice Awards. And we’ve gotta say: We can’t really fault the model. The gown is such a stunner that we’re almost glad it got a second moment in the spotlight. And if we had the chance to wear it, we wouldn’t dream of saying no. (After all, this is a design we deemed so amazing, we included it in our best of the best gallery featuring the top red carpet looks of the entire awards season.)

And we’re totally on the fence when it comes to the winner of this Faceoff. Teigen hit the Vanity Fair Oscar party in the gown and added appropriately glam touches like a coordinating Swarovski clutch, an elegant pulled-back hairdo and a red lip. The perfect styling for such a sophisticated occasion.
Watts, on the other hand, went a bit more boho with the look, wearing her hair in a messy low ‘do and keeping her makeup minimal. Considering the People’s Choice Awards are one of the most casual awards shows of the year, it was the right move.
The McQueen design looks good both glammed-up and low-key, so we need help deciding: Who comes out on top in this Fashion Faceoff? Vote below!
