Oscar watchers are all abuzz about Charlize Theron's turn at the Academy Awards last night. When the former ballet dancer wasn't doing a graceful two-step onstage with hunky actor Channing Tatum, the gorgeous actress was pretty much owning the red carpet, what with her striking new pixie cut and her beautiful white Dior Haute Couture gown.
We admit it, we were crushing a bit on Charlize -- and even more so when she gave a red-carpet shout-out to to the Canadian stylist who put together her Oscar look. Toronto-born and raised Leslie Fremar is now based in New York and styles such A-listers as Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore and Scarlett Johansson. Fremar was recently named Hollywood Reporter's #2 most-powerful stylist, and was among Us Weekly's most-stylish New Yorkers of 2012.
The stylist cut her teeth assisting Anna Wintour at Vogue, and is credited as being the inspiration for the mogul's assistant Emily in 'The Devil Wears Prada.'
Looks like Fremar was with Theron every step of the Oscars way, based on her tweets:

Getting ready with Theron:

And backstage, where Theron had to do a quick change for her dancing number:

A stylist's work is never done -- and good on Charlize for giving credit to Fremar. After all, it's really the stylist's responsibility as to whether or not a celebrity lands on 'best dressed' lists, as Theron did for many. What did you think of the star's look? Let us know in the comments below:
