Longtime Sex and the City fans know that Carrie Bradshaw was never seen without her Manolo Blahniks — and the star who portrayed her, Sarah Jessica Parker, was just as loyal to the designer as her mad-for-Manolos counterpart. But lately, it seems another debonair shoe designer has captured the star’s sole: Jean-Michel Cazabat.
Her first appearance in Cazabat’s heels couldn’t help but catch our eye, since she picked a traffic-stopping pair of pink-and-purple pumps for a Vogue event late last year. Since then, she’s been spotted in a parade of the designer’s sexy, pointed-toe creations, from sequin-covered bronze heels to neon snakeskin stunners. And it appears she’s playing favorites with the designer’s black D’Orsay heel, wearing it in N.Y.C. Feb. 1 and again to the BAFTAs in London on Sunday.
Since Cazabat’s glamorous, slightly wild pumps have become the heel for the star whose name is synonymous with shoes, we have a feeling that 2013 is going to be a huge year for the designer — and that we better start clearing space in our shoe closet for a pair. And the best part? Unlike plenty of “It” shoes from the past, many of the designer’s shoes retail for leww than $350, meaning that if we start our shoe savings account now, we can nab a pair ourselves.
