Growing up in San Francisco, Derek Lam became very familiar with the chic minimalism of California interiors. "He was inspired by that type of comfortable interior where you just want to throw yourself onto the couch," said Estée Lauder Makeup artist Tom Pecheux. That doesn't sounds too glamorous to us, but it translated into a beauty look comprised of perfect matte skin and rich, creamy eyelids and lips. To execute, Pecheux blended lavender, beige, and silver shadows onto lids and patted a blend of Estée Lauder's Burnished Bronze lipstick and Electric Wine gloss onto models' lips for a stain-like finish.
