Day three is winding down with heavy hitters like Prabal Gurung and Alexander Wang showing fall collections filled with luxurious details like baroque printed silk dresses, furry elbow length gloves, and slouchy tops covered in iridescent sequins. Of note in Gurung's warrior princess-inspired collection was a loden green parka that featured intricately beaded brocade inserts that caught the light as Catherine McNeil glided down the runway. Over at Alexander Wang's highly anticipated collection, a subtly sexy burnout dress on Maria Bradley played with the concept of reveal/conceal.
Last night's shows also had details not to be missed: at Helmut Lang's modern art inspired show designers Michael and Nicole Colovos sent out shades of gray that mixed textures (patent versus matte leather) and pattern. Suno played with ethnic touches, adding whimsical embroidery and tassels to a floaty top. And finally rag & bone experimented with proportion - a slouchy menswear sweater was paired with a quilted moto-inspired mini and finished off with racy thigh high tights. Click ahead to zoom in on all of these and keep clicking to catch up on what you may have missed from the first two days of shows.
