Zendaya stuns on the September 2023 cover of Elle magazine, sharing all things style, dating, music, and more. Whether for a cocktail event or an award show red carpet, all eyes are on Zendaya when she steps into view - and she enjoys participating in fashion. The superstar usually collaborates on her outfits with the help of longtime stylist and image architect Law Roach, who also styled her shoot for Elle's latest issue.
Throughout the shoot, Zendaya exclusively wears black, white, and red, posing on the roof of the Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. In one shot, she looks over her shoulder to show off a totally backless black gown by Dundas. In another, she stands on a platform in front of a pool, rocking a black minidress from Louis Vuitton with more than 30 cutouts. Other looks include a Sergio Hudson shirtdress, a red leather Alexander McQueen slit skirt and moto jacket, and a sheer Simone Perele bra worn underneath an open JW Anderson leather coat.
Roach and Zendaya first began working together in 2011, introduced by a mutual friend. He initially styled her for the 2011 Justin Bieber "Never Say Never" documentary premiere, and since then, the two have been inseparable. Of Roach, Zendaya shared: "I ride super hard for my team, especially for people I love. He's involved in every fashion contract, everything I do. If I have an opportunity where he can come with me, he's always going to be there. He's always been my creative director in a sense, and he continues to fill that role, because it's more than just clothes on a red carpet. It's a bigger thing." And while she says she is "angry at him to this day" about one of the first looks he styled back in 2012 - a flared-pants-and-striped-shirt outfit she counts among her worst ever - it clearly didn't sour their relationship.
Though Zendaya has taken much of the summer off from public events, she recently slayed in a head-to-toe sequined look with a plunging neckline from Louis Vuitton in late June. Back in May, she kept it casual for a Lakers game date with Tom Holland in a white T-shirt and '70s-style oversize frames. Later that same month, she drew inspiration from Old Hollywood style at the Bulgari High Jewelry Event in Venice.
