While many celebrities have tried the naked-dress trend and succeeded, Keke Palmer's latest look just might be the best approach we've seen to date. The new mom effortlessly turned heads in a thong-baring dress as she stepped out for a leg of Usher's residency tour in Las Vegas on July 5. Her friend Lenoria Addison also accompanied her for the concert, where the R&B singer infamously serenaded Palmer with fan-favorite hit, "There Goes My Baby."
The 29-year-old casually graced Instagram's timeline to capture her night of fun in a series of photos, including one where she embraces her curves and kisses at the camera. "I wish I had taken more pictures but we were running late," she captioned the post, wearing an all-black ensemble, including a sheer, polka dot dress from Givenchy that featured the brand's logo all over. Palmer layered the mesh gown over a sleek, tank bodysuit with a thong bottom and mules to match. She finished the look with "paint chip nails," a dewy glam with a red lip, and her hair styled in '50s-inspired, loose waves.
While Palmer's look was criticized by boyfriend Darius Jackson, the style is actually quite popular, showing up on the red carpet on stars like Ciara, Hailey Bieber, Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, and many more. Either way, there's no controversy that can stop the mom-of-one's confidence. Not only has she seen major success with her impressive career including the new "Big Boss" short film, but Palmer has enjoyed somewhat of a style renaissance, appearing in many elevated looks during and post-pregnancy. Most recently, the "Nope" actress wore a classic denim-on-denim top-and-pants look from Alaïa for a TikTok video, a custom figure-flattering Sergio Hudson dress for the 2023 Met Gala, and donned a sequinned, cutout gown for the Critics Circle Awards in January. She also wore a similar, sultry outfit which included a white tank top and high-rise shorts under a mesh dress for an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" last year.
