We love to see women supporting women. At the BET Awards on June 25, Coi Leray wore a black-and-white three-piece set emblazoned with the names of other female artists for her Busta Rhymes tribute performance. The 26-year-old rapper styled a crystalized bralette top with a cropped white moto jacket featuring names like Da Brat, Yo-Yo, and Nicki Minaj, each spelled out in blacked-out blocks with white lettering. Her matching low-rise pants also paid homage to women in rap, nodding to a few more modern rappers like Doja Cat, Ice Spice, and Saweetie.
Leray, who was nominated for best female hip-hop artist, pulled the statement-making look together with bedazzled sneakers, a silver bow necklace, and a singular fingerless glove. With all the names covering her outfit, she still made sure to include her own, with "Coi" written across the front of her jacket in shiny silver rhinestones and "Leray" across the back.
Leray's outfit at the BET Awards represents the solidarity she's previously mentioned on social media, pushing for more unity among women in the industry. "Calling all the female rappers to front. Here me out. ladies night. Hip hop. Unity," she tweeted on June 13. "Let's make history with a number 1 . . . together . . with love." Read ahead to see how she stayed true to her message with an outfit dedicated entirely to women at the BET Awards.
