Ben Platt is sporting some new bling. The actor got engaged to partner Noah Galvin for the second time on May 29, and his engagement ring is quite the stunner. Platt announced the news on Instagram Stories by sharing a photo of his iced-out left hand with the caption "he proposed back." His multi-stone ring features a large rectangular sapphire and two diamond side stones set on a yellow gold band. Galvin popped the big question with blue flower petals sprinkled on the floor to match Platt's sapphire sparkler, and they celebrated with a blue heart-shaped cake that read, "Gay marriage is cool."
Platt first proposed to Galvin last November with a strikingly similar ring designed by Los Angeles-based jeweler Grace Lee. Galvin's features a long diamond baguette flanked by two trapezoid-shaped emeralds, all set inside a yellow gold band. The actor has flashed the unique ring on several occasions since receiving it last year, including at South by Southwest and Sundance Film Festival. With Platt's comedy film "Theater Camp" set to premiere in July, it's only a matter of time before the two hit the red carpet with their new engagement rings on display.
Platt isn't the only star who's received some stunning engagement jewelry this year. Just last month, Jake Bongiovi proposed to Millie Bobby Brown with a large round solitaire diamond ring, and NFL star Christian McCaffrey proposed to Olivia Culpo with a triple-diamond ring he codesigned himself. Bella Thorne also showed off her enormous 10-plus-carat ring after getting engaged to producer Mark Emms earlier this month.
