"Euphoria" actor Sydney Sweeney was a vision in a mermaid Miu Miu gown on the 2023 Met Gala red carpet. The 25-year-old stepped out in an embellished look, which played into the evening's trend of effortless glamour, while still managing to stand out in the chicest way.
Sweeney's longtime stylist Molly Dickson sourced the star's red carpet look, which featured jewel detailing complete with a black bow at her knees. The only thing more showstopping than the star's outfit was her accompanying beauty glam, which makeup artist Melissa Hernandez helped to create. As the new face of Armani Beauty, Sweeney relied on a black winged liner to help give her eyes an extra pop, while a nude pink lip color elevated her ensemble with a more polished flair. She also opted for a black bow atop soft waves to complement her outfit, a hair look that was fashioned by Glen Oropeza.
This year's Met Gala celebrations aim to honor the legacy of the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who served as the creative lead behind heritage brands like Chanel, Fendi, and Chloé, among others. Much like her 2022 Met Gala outfit, Sweeney stuck to the event's theme by donning a curve-hugging silhouette that moved effortlessly with her as she posed for photos. While some more daring looks debuted on the red carpet, Sweeney's was both sweet and classic.
In the past year, Sweeney has enjoyed something of a red carpet renaissance, and we've had a front-row seat to see her style evolution up close. The actor recently wore a sheer skirt and bralette combination at an NYC Armani Beauty launch. Before that, she flaunted a strapless pink jumpsuit at CinemaCon alongside "Anyone but You" costar Glen Powell, and earlier this year at the 73rd Berlinale International Film Festival, she put her red-hot love for Miu Miu on full display in a crystal-embellished corset dress.
