Louis Vuitton announced Zendaya as the brand's new house ambassador and the face of its Capucines bag campaign on April 20. With the new designs in tow, Zendaya posed for the campaign in a series of elegant black ensembles adorned with gold hardware. In one particularly outstanding look, the "Spider-Man: No Way Home" star stood in a monochrome minidress split down the side with an oversized gold zipper. Between both hands, she clutched a Capucine handbag in topaz blue, mirroring the Mediterranean backdrop.
"My one and only girl for Louis Vuitton styled by me."
For her LV debut, Zendaya - who was a front-row guest at the designer's women's fall/winter 2023 show in March - was styled by her long-time collaborator Law Roach. "My one and only girl for @louisvuitton styled by me," Roach captioned photos of Zendaya modeling the various handbags on his own Instagram account.
Each piece in the Capucines collection, including the miniature Capucines BB bag, is crafted using full-grain Taurillon leather and can be worn as a handbag, shoulder bag, or cross-body bag - we love to see the versatility. The pieces start at $6,100 and range in price up to $10,500.
Additional looks from the campaign include a pair of black high-waisted trousers layered over a bodysuit almost identical to Zendaya's standout minidress, a similar bodysuit in white, a belted dress with a front zipper and practical pockets, and a black leather jacket rolled up at the sleeves. "The new #LouisVuitton House Ambassador embodies the audacious spirit of the Maison, exuding a bold, feminine allure in the #LVCapucines campaign," the fashion house captioned their campaign announcement on Instagram.
Zendaya joins a long list of Louis Vuitton's brand ambassadors, including Naomi Osaka and the members of BTS in 2021, as well as Ana de Armas and HoYeon in 2022. With plenty of movie premieres and red carpets on the horizon - as well as the Met Gala - Zendaya has no shortage of occasions to show off her new Louis Vuitton wardrobe.
