Jonah Hill is entering the fashion space in the most Jonah Hill way imaginable. On April 7, the "You People" star and Lisa Rinna became the newest addition to our ongoing list of unexpected celebrity friendships when they attended the Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns game together in Los Angeles. Sitting courtside, Hill and Rinna wore matching outfits from Meaningful Existence, Hill's new clothing brand that embraces the weird and the wonderful in the name of spreading "joy throughout the universe by monetizing happiness."
"Each shirt is priced at the amount of happiness you deserve."
Hill's laid-back outfit consisted of a white crewneck sweatshirt embellished with the brand's logo in black, with stars in place of tittles. The letters featured a paint splatter design that evoked a rainbow ombré effect. Hill styled the piece with matching sweatpants with the word "meaningful" printed down his right leg and the word "existence" down his left. He completed the outfit with pink socks and black slides.
Rinna wore the same outfit in yellow with blue socks and beige slides. They also wore matching retro sunglasses. In photos from the basketball game, the duo was spotted snapping selfies, sharing a few laughs, and emitting an effortlessly cool energy that seems to fall in line perfectly with the Meaningful Existence aesthetic. "Me with Prophet Ezekiel Profit," Rinna captioned a photo with Hill before the game. "@meaningfulxist has changed my life!"
During the event, Hill notably wore a voluminous black wig with curls that draped to his shoulders. The wig appears to mark his transformation into his new alter ego: Prophet Ezekiel Profit. On the brand's satirical website, Profit is described as a cult-like leader who is "a renowned spiritual guru, master of finance, and world-class conch blower." His profile states that he is the author of 12 books and resides on a 20,000-acre compound "where he instructs his followers on how to live a better life through monetizing happiness."
Rinna and Hill's outfits are not available to shop yet, but the site does feature "Re-birth" t-shirts in three styles for $40 each, with three additional "mystery" styles still to come. "Profit is hand blessing each piece for optimum joy," the site reads. "Patience is a skill that WILL BE REWARDED FORCEFULLY. EACH SHIRT IS PRICED AT THE AMOUNT OF HAPPINESS YOU DESERVE."
The brand is a highly transparent parody of exploitative wellness brands that capitalize on mental health awareness for financial profit. If you take a moment to peruse the Meaningful Existence site for yourself, rest assured that it only gets weirder. "We're happy you found us. We will be the shirt on your back, the sweatshirt on top of the shirt, the slides on your feet, the blanket that tucks you in at night and, most importantly, the smile on your face," the site reads, indicating that new products are on the way.
