Priyanka Chopra attended the second annual South Asian Excellence pre-Oscars celebration on Thursday, Mar. 9, in an all-white look that felt quite bridal in appeal. The event, held just a few days ahead of the Oscars, celebrates and honors the South Asian community in Hollywood. Wearing a sheer cropped corset and a coordinated embellished mermaid skirt, the actress topped her look with a white feathered jacket that turned heads. The full outfit was designed by Falguni Shane Peacock, an Indian design house. While Chopra was photographed at the event, she also took to social media to post some photos of her standing by the pool and showing off the look in all its stunning glory, shot by Tyler Henderson.
Seen up close, the corset featured an entirely sheer layer of boning that was embroidered with flowers. Opaque beaded bra cups peeked out from the top of the neckline. The complementing high-waist skirt showed a little bit of skin at the midriff, with sheer silk cascading down into a mermaid silhouette, replete with a fishtail train. On top, Chopra layered a long-sleeve feathered jacket, cropped to put as much of her outfit on display as possible. On her feet were PVC heeled sandals, to ensure that the outfit itself was the main event. Her Bulgari jewelry came encrusted with diamonds. Chopra's hair fell in a side part with beach waves, and dewy makeup with a smokey eye and a bright red lip added some color to her overall look.
A little over a month ago, Chopra went for a more tailored version of this outfit, wearing a white knit high-waist midi skirt and bandeau top - perhaps trying the style on for size. But when it comes to the red carpet, she's been spotted in everything from a gold sequined dress at an event in London to a Tony Ward Couture kaftan selected for the Red Sea International Film Festival back in December.
