Rina Sawayama is taking style risks amid Paris Fashion Week. On March 2, the Japanese-British pop star was among Givenchy's star-studded front row in a double-denim look straight from the designer's previous spring collection.
She stepped out in a bra top with side cutouts and silver buckles across the front, paired with a low-rise midi skirt, both made in the same distressed denim. On top of her Canadian tuxedo ensemble, Sawayama draped a floor-length black jean coat. Finally, for added drama, she pulled the look together with a thick chain belt, bug-eye sunglasses, pointed black boots, and a silver purse.
Givenchy's fall 2023 runway displayed a mix of expert tailoring, Japanese denim, and distressed leather courtesy of creative director Matthew Williams. Sawayama enjoyed the show alongside stars like Halsey, who wore a similar bra top in lime green; Madelaine Petsch; and Lisa Rinna.
Sawayama's edgy outfit is almost identical to a runway look from the designer's spring 2023 show in October 2022, worn by Bella Hadid. At the time, the supermodel stepped onto the catwalk in the same cutout bra top and midi skirt, though she accessorized with a matching shoulder bag and lace-up boots.
Since wrapping her tour in Europe at the end of February, the "XS" singer has been spotted in Paris at several Fashion Week events. Prior to the Givenchy show, she attended the Acne Studios show on March 1, wearing a sheer knit outfit adorned with a pink flower belt.
