Miley Cyrus' latest single reminds all of us that we can, in fact, buy our own flowers. And, in addition to the message of female empowerment, the song just makes you want to dance (even Diane Keaton is getting in on the action). To celebrate her sixth straight week on Billboard Hot 100, Cyrus stripped down to a gold lame thong bodysuit, ushering in the warm weather season with one of her boldest looks yet.
The bodysuit is actually a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier find from 1989, with high-cut legs and a sultry thong silhouette. The front is crafted of gold lame with buttons down the front, a collar, and flap chest pockets to make it look like a shirt. To show off the look, Cyrus leans to one side on the hood of a pale blue car. On her feet are black pointed-toe slingback kitten heels.
For the accompanying caption, Cyrus wrote: "Flowers is #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 for the 6th week in a row. To THANK YOU I'm dropping the Flowers Demo on Friday ❤️." She also just dropped the entire track list to the full, soon-to-be-released album.
While this outfit is certainly a head-turning choice for the "Wrecking Ball" singer, it's totally in line with some of her latest promotional looks. Just last week, she took to Instagram in a vintage thong bikini: a bright red bandeau two-piece by Tom Ford for Gucci's Spring 1997 collection. And she shared the cover of her upcoming album at the beginning of the month, lying next to a pool in a totally cutout black thong swimsuit.
As for the gold vibe? She's been trying that color palette out recently as well, in the music video for "Flowers," in fact. Released in January, Cyrus is seen walking through the streets of LA wearing a gold lamé hooded dress. That piece is also a vintage gem, designed by Yves Saint Laurent for the Fall 1991 collection.
