Madelyn Cline, 25-year-old star of "Outer Banks" and "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery," is Cosmopolitan's new cover star. While she wears a fairly streamlined Alex Perry catsuit on the cover of the magazine, the inside spreads are a flurry of skin-baring, early-aughts outfits, including a swimsuit with torso cutouts and a totally sheer top and bottom set.
Styled by Cassie Anderson, the spread was shot at a bowling alley, giving a great retro backdrop to complement her throwback fashion looks. In one image, she stands with a trophy while wearing a totally sheer, long-sleeved crop top and leggings from Grover Rad. She shows off her bikini briefs underneath and accessorizes with knee-high Paris Texas cowboy boots and Tiffany & Co jewelry. In another image, she lies on a knock-hockey table while wearing a crystal-embellished purple Versace swimsuit with three circular cutouts down her torso. On each wrist is a clear Alexis Bittar acrylic bangle. Other outfits include a pair of ultrashort denim shorts and a cowl-neck minidress.
In the article, she not only speaks about her quick rise to fame after years of feeling like an unknown but also shares little-known behind-the-scenes stories that have occurred along the way. One such story was a fashion emergency that she had to deal with during the Toronto premiere of "Glass Onion" while wearing a black lace Armani dress. She shared, "That dress. It was funny because when I sat down on the stage for the Q&A, the dress ripped in the middle. So, I was holding my clutch in front of my crotch. They offered me a microphone to answer a question and I was like, [shakes her head 'no']. Like, oh my god."
Her cover-shoot outfits are not dissimilar to her ensembles as of late. She was spotted at a launch party only a few days ago in a top made of chains, and she appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" over the holidays in a chartreuse dress that was totally backless. Last year, she made headlines at the AMAs in a black gown featuring a torso rife with oversize cutouts.
