Taylor Swift might not have walked the red carpet at the 2022 American Music Awards, but she made a surprise appearance during the event when she accepted the favorite pop album award for "Red (Taylor's Version)." Swift, 32, has been dressing for her "bejeweled era" ever since releasing "Midnights," and fans have quickly picked up on her wardrobe's connection to the costumes she wears in the "Bejeweled" music video. The gold, rhinestone-encrusted halter jumpsuit from The Blonds that she wore on stage certainly fits the bill while also drawing comparisons to the Reem Acra dress she wore to the AMAs 11 years ago.
Swift works with stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer on her looks, and it's likely they picked this design specifically to cater to her recent change in aesthetic. The mood was glamour, and Swift played into the theme by accessorizing with plenty of gold rings from Delfina Delettrez and Anita Ko, plus a diamond-finished bracelet from Vram along with sword-shaped earrings. The jewelry was highlighted by her shimmering glitter manicure. She sported her signature red lip and parted her long, blond hair to the side with softly combed waves cascading past her shoulders. The ornate jumper was cinched at the waist with a thin belt and finished with metallic heeled sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti. On her way to receive the honor, Swift showed off all angles of her outfit, drawing attention to the backless silhouette.
Swift recently announced her Eras tour, which prompted a rush in Ticketmaster sales and a crashing of the site that she publicly apologized for on Instagram.
