Life shows no signs of slowing down for Priyanka Chopra. The new mom, who welcomed daughter Malti with husband Nick Jonas in January, recently traveled to Mumbai to promote her hair-care line, stepping out in a stylish three-piece blue suit. And just a week prior, she celebrated Diwali with her growing family at home, where the trio wore matching champagne-hued ensembles.
Another development in the 40-year-old actor and entrepreneur's life is her appointment as the face of the latest campaign from Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans. Gloria Vanderbilt - the American heiress who passed away in 2019 at age 95 - debuted her eponymous denim line in 1976, promising pants with enough stretch that they molded to the body's frame. Considering denim's reputation as a rather rigid material at the time, it was a revolutionary concept.
"I have always been inspired by a woman with a pioneering spirit," Chopra tells POPSUGAR. "When Gloria Vanderbilt created Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans nearly 50 years ago, she launched the very first denim brand with the specific needs of women in mind. It's great to be part of that legacy."
Whether she's walking the red carpet, standing behind a podium, or hanging at home, comfort is nonnegotiable when it comes to her wardrobe, Chopra says. But with denim specifically, it can be easy to forgo being comfortable in the name of being trendy. Chopra rejects the notion that you can't have both.
"My GVs . . . hug me in the right areas and let me go in the places I want them to," she says. "I could wear them all day long, and most importantly, I feel good in them. Apart from that, I also love that the brand was at the forefront of size inclusivity, making women of different shapes and sizes feel confident and comfortable when wearing jeans."
Beyond her collaboration with the iconic denim brand, Chopra has two forthcoming film projects she's excited to share with fans. One is a movie releasing ahead of Valentine's Day called "It's All Coming Back to Me" with Sam Heughan and Celine Dion. Another is "Citadel" by the Russo Brothers, which will be released next year on Amazon Prime Video.
"I star alongside Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci, and a whole cast of amazing talent," Chopra says. "It is a spy thriller and an insanely ambitious TV universe that consists of a US, English-language show with interconnected series that are set in foreign language markets."
When the press junkets begin to roll out, Chopra will have plenty of opportunities to showcase her signature sophisticated style, which favors classic, tailored silhouettes. Keep reading for her fall fashion tips and tricks.
