For the 2022 CFDA Awards in New York City on Monday night, Kylie Jenner proved that the sheer trend has serious staying power. The 25-year-old reality TV star and beauty entrepreneur arrived on the white carpet wearing a one-shouldered gown with a completely see-through top and a form-fitting skirt that featured a waist-high slit. An attached arm sleeve made of the same sheer material rounded out the chic ensemble.
Jenner's stylist, Mackenzie Grandquist, revealed the inspiration behind the look on her Instagram Stories. In one frame, she shared a runway image from the Thierry Mugler fall/winter 1999 show, when Jenner's exact look made its original debut. In the next frame, Grandquist posted two side-by-side snapshots of Jenner at the CFDAs, donning the archival look in a manner similar to how it was first presented back in '99. The only exception is that Jenner opted against a chunky diamond necklace, though she stuck with the black pumps and classic updo.
Just last week, the mom of two went with another sheer garment for one of her many Halloween costumes. She's also been spotted in several bodysuits as of late, once again displaying her affinity for fitted silhouettes and shapes. Jenner is experiencing somewhat of a fashion renaissance, as evidenced by her highly stylish Paris Fashion Week trip, which was rife with plunging gowns and head-turning styles, such as the eye-catching Barbiecore-pink shag dress she chose for the Balenciaga show. Ahead, catch more glimpses of Jenner at the 2022 CFDAs and her vintage Thierry Mugler ensemble.
