USA Olympic champion and gold medalist Simone Biles is officially a Galia Lahav bride-to-be. Just one month after getting engaged to her partner of two years, Jonathan Owens, wedding details are being finalized. The duo have already confirmed they'll be tying the knot on the beach, and they are trusting iconic brand Galia Lahav to provide intricate couture pieces for the occasion. Lahav is renowned for utilizing meticulous sewing techniques alongside fellow in-house designer Sharon Sever, and there are not many floor-sweeping gowns that rival their work.
Biles visited the LA flagship and selected multiple dresses after trying on several during her fitting (two of which you can see ahead). While we can't be sure exactly what silhouette she chose for her walk down the aisle, Biles has had her fair shade of red carpet triumphs that have more than prepared her to pull off something over the top. She wore an 88-pound dress to the 2021 Met Gala, custom designed by Area and Athleta, and has carried everything from cutouts and high leg slits to flowing maxi dresses with confidence. Since Biles and Owens love to travel, we wouldn't be surprised if the Galia Lahav team incorporate custom details that speak to the destination the couple chose for their big day.
Biles spent her time wedding-dress shopping in casual denim cutoffs teamed with white sneakers, a bright white tank under a blazer, and her stunning, oval-shaped engagement ring from Houston-based jeweler ZoFrost & Co. It's no surprise she was glowing, both from natural excitement and the added sparkle of her ring.
Of course, the Galia Lahav team invited her to celebrate her special moment by holding up a sign that read, "Officially a #GLBRIDE." Ahead, see some of the options Biles sifted through during her visit to the boutique.
