The low-rise denim trend has officially reached unprecedented levels. Consider Tracee Ellis Ross's jean heels at Paris Fashion Week. After openly rejecting and reluctantly accepting the success of the controversial jeans trend, we can't help but marvel at this new unexpected denim accessory. Ross rocked a pair of heels from the Loewe Fall 2022 collection that appear to cut the waist and legs out of a pair of jeans, resulting in a pile of fabric bunched around her ankles that's somehow mind-boggling and chic at the same time.
Like the fabric missing from the upper half of a pair of low-rise jeans, Ross's heels feature a tent of denim draped around a standard pointed-toe heel in black, making us wonder what could be hiding under all that material. Extra clothes? Her phone? Snacks? "BLUE JEAN BABY," Ross captioned photos of the artistic look. "Thank you @loewe @jonathan.anderson for a beautiful show of wearable art."
Ross, styled by Karla Welch, smartly paired the look with a patchwork denim jacket layered over an asymmetrical wrap blouse, black leather trousers, and a matching letterman jacket.
Once we got past the fascinating shoes, we also spotted Ross's Loewe handbag, and we can't decide if the purse or the heels are where she hides her extra lipstick and backup mascara.
Take a closer peek at Ross's entire outfit ahead, and check out some of our favorite high-waisted jeans as a palate cleanser while we try to process this new extreme in the denim sphere.
