I've said it once and I'll say it again: I love affordable finds as much as I love luxe ones. For example, my love for Old Navy and certain high-end athleisure brands is borderline obsession-worthy. Nonetheless, I consider myself a savvy shopper in that I'm super picky about the items I splurge on - and ultra-luxe sweatshirts aren't among those things (at this point in my life, anyway).
So while shopping at the Mall of America recently (do yourself a favor and book a trip to Minnesota, FYI), I found myself scanning the aisles at Old Navy. While there, I came across the Long-Sleeve Half-Zip Oversized Textured Sweatshirt ($25, originally $40), which caught my eye for its resemblance to the aspirationally priced ones I've seen all over TikTok.
Naturally, I gave it a test run in Old Navy's fitting room (where the lighting is strangely immaculate, FYI) and loved the look. It helped that I was wearing the exact pieces I intended to pair with it: high-waisted leggings, a fanny pack, sneakers, and gold jewelry to ~elevate~ my athleticwear. I was sold, especially because it was on sale.
Not only does it look cute, but it's really soft. It's made of a unique, textured polyester material that's a lot lighter than a sherpa sweatshirt. For that reason, I think this top will be a staple in my spring wardrobe, perfect for throwing on for a morning walk or for staying warm when the sun goes down.
If you prefer a more fitted look, it has a bungee drawcord fastening at the hem that cinches it at the waist. As someone who's currently drawn to the oversize, cropped look, I personally leaned that way, but know that it's an option if that's more your style.
And finally, it's worth noting that this sweatshirt comes in several colors. As someone who plays it safe with neutrals, I stuck to the Creme De La Creme hue, but it's also available in black and gray, as well as perfect-for-spring shades of teal, coral, and yellow. So, which one will you be adding to cart?
