After six months of highly symbolic traffic jams in the ladies’ room just off the Senate floor — where a record twenty women now serve — renovations are under way to offer a “nicer and more spacious facility,” the Washington Post reports. “It’s a really positive sign of how things have changed here,” New Hampshire Democrat Jeanne Shaheen told the Post. “We’re even going to have a window.” Construction is due to be complete after the August recess, at which point the women of the U.S. Senate will be able to go to the bathroom in large groups, as nature intended.
