Zendaya is on the cover of W's new directors issue, and every single high-fashion photo belongs on display in a museum. "Dune" director Denis Villeneuve provided creative direction for the shoot and had the "Euphoria" actor portray a visitor from the future, as a nod to her role in the sci-fi movie franchise. Her go-to stylist, Law Roach, was in charge of wardrobe for the artistic production - and he pulled out all the stops to make Zendaya shine.
For the main cover, Roach chose a standout look from Schiaparelli's galactic spring 2022 haute-couture collection: a black gown with a sizable circular headpiece and arm hoops covered in golden sequins, pearls, and Swarovski rhinestones. Zendaya made posing in the intricate design look like effortless, and photographer Jack Davison knew the exact angles to shoot from to make sartorial magic happen.
Zendaya wore several other metallic designer looks pulled straight from the spring 2022 runways. There's a silver fringe-lined halter top from French label Courrèges and a chainmail Christopher Kane dress lined with chunky metal straps. She also slips into a shimmery Burberry top and leggings; a sheer Maximilian gown; a muted Loewe dress; and a plunging, rhinestone-lined Saint Laurent bustier. Last, but certainly not least, Roach had Valentino custom-make Zendaya a sequined catsuit with sheer panels that's truly breathtaking.
Zendaya promoted the W photo spread on her Instagram,, calling it "one of [her] all time favorite shoots." That's high praise, considering how many magazines she's appeared in over the years. Admire every outfit ahead.
