Winona Ryder has landed her first-ever beauty campaign.
The actress was announced as the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty via the designer’s Instagram page on Monday. In the newly released ad, Ryder showcases her flawless complexion and some major cat eye for an overall gorgeous first look at his spring 2016 collection.
“It is with great pride (and pleasure) that I ‘leak’ this image from our upcoming 2016 MARC JACOBS BEAUTY campaign,” Jacobs captioned his photo. “It stars my dear friend (of over two and a half decades), the stunningly beautiful and extraordinarily talented, Winona Ryder.”
Inspired by the 1961 film The Last Year at Marienbad and screen siren Delphine Seyrig, Jacobs chose Ryder as his new muse because she embodies “flawless cool, elegant and timeless chic.”
Makeup lovers can recreate the Beetlejuice star’s look by using a fine liner eye crayon, velvet noir mascara and nude colored lipstick.
“It’s fantastic, and it’s a huge honor,” Ryder told Allure about her new gig. “What I love about Marc – and there are many things – is that we both have a very similar penchant for past eras, and the history of fashion and culture. He doesn’t go for the cookie-cutter woman, for lack of a better expression.”
It’s been close to 14 years since Ryder was arrested for shoplifting $5,560 worth of stolen designer goods – including a $760 Marc Jacobs sweater.
But it appears, Ryder’s friendship with the designer has stayed strong as ever as Jacobs shared numerous throwback photos of the pair on his social media accounts following the big reveal.
