Ordinarily, we’d be telling you “What We’re Buying,” but about this time, our “pretty things” budget is going right to gifts for family and friends. So instead, we’re doing a last minute wishlist for things we’d be perfectly happy to find under the tree next week, in case Santa (or our mom or boyfriend) comes across this article.

Alex Apatoff, Style News Editor: I have a few weaknesses in this life: Tortilla chips. Bulldog puppies. Monograms. And star prints. This clutch delivers on two of those four things. If it was delivered to me by a bulldog puppy I’d probably pass out.
But because it’s so specific to my tastes, I haven’t been able to get this Clare Vivier bag out of my head since I saw it in Gwyneth Paltrow’s gift guide. Yes, it’s for Goop. Yes, it’s pricey. But it’s also so classic and elegant, while at the same time feeling whimsical and unique. It would go with anything and get compliments every time.
It’s probably a little too late, but a girl can’t help but hope that her darling husband “Gift of the Magi”s his favorite watch (or in his case, his favorite cast iron pan) for this to show up like a Christmas miracle.

Brittany Talarico, Associate Style Editor : I’ve been admiring Dannijo’s new collaboration with Rashida Jones ( Fine by Dannijones … see what they did there?) since the new line launched in November. But I’ve yet to splurge on a piece from the collection, so I’m making a last minute add to my holiday “Lust List:” the Elf midi ring .
I’m slowly staring to build a ring stack (see photo at left), and I think the triangle-shaped piece of jewelry would be a great addition to the Catbird pieces I currently have. (And yes, I’ll be sending this story link to my family and boyfriend, with the subject line “Last Minute Shopping Ideas …”)

Liz Ribuffo, Photo Assistant: I admittedly don’t own a lot of dresses (I’m more of a jeans-and-flannel girl) but I’m thinking my New Year’s Resolution might be to get a little fancier from time to time. That’s why a casual, cute dress I can wear this winter is a must on my list.
This Madewell dress would look awesome with opaque tights for work (well, everything would be, according to this video) or with a sheer pair (or even without!) for a cocktail party. I love that it’s relaxed, comfortable and has pockets — and I love even more than it’s 30% off and almost sold-out in my size — meaning that if someone’s looking for a down-to-the-wire pick for me, this would be perfect!
