Style News Editor Alex Apatoff: I mentioned once that my friend is getting married in June; what I neglected to mention is that I’m using this Florida wedding (and my bridesmaid status) as an excuse to update my entire summer wardrobe.
For instance: I can’t possibly hit the beach in the same old swimwear I’ve been wearing. This occasion practically requires a new suit. And J. Crew’s 25% off sale just validated that opinion.
I tossed this great, retro-feeling red one-piece in my cart along with a few basic tees and an ikat pencil skirt, and between the big discount and the fact that J. Crew’s doing double cash back on Ebates, the new purchase was practically guilt-free.

Style director Andrea Lavinthal: Recently my boyfriend pointed out that I wear a lot of black and gray and suggested I incorporate some color into my wardrobe.
I’m not sure when my significant other decided to take on the role of my stylist, but that’s for a different post. So when I spotted this sparkly peach and pink necklace on BaubleBar, my initial thought was that it’s really pretty but I’d never wear something so bright and girlie.
But then I remembered what he said and reconsidered. Besides, it’ll look great with my favorite black jeans and gray T-shirt.

Senior editor Zoë Ruderman: My standards for a pair of boyfriend jeans are much like my standards for a boyfriend: high.
The jeans must be perfectly worn-in, soft but able to hold their shape even after hours of wear, look cute with heels or flats and be capable of making me laugh hysterically even when I’m in a bad mood. (OK, that last requirement is for a boyfriend, not boyfriend jeans.)
I’ve gone through a number of them (you guys, I’m talking about jeans now!) and these from Express, which I just nabbed, are some of the best I’ve found. They’ve got a bit of stretch and they’re just the right amount of distressed that I don’t feel like a Coachella castoff. And best of all, the jeans are under 70 bucks (and buy one, get one half-off right now).
