If there’s ever a time to take style risks, it’s after a breakup.
Ariel Winter wore a trompe l’oeil jumpsuit when she attended the Jingle Ball in New York City on Friday, just days after hinting on social media that she and her boyfriend of more than two years had broken up.

The Modern Family star wore a burgundy jumpsuit featureing a wrap top with a small cutout and matching trompe l’oeil pants that are made to appear to be sheer between zig-zagging burgundy lines. (However, it’s clear they the pants aren’t completely see-through. The 17-year-old accessorized her eye-tricking, figure-flattering outfit with a gold clutch and gold, strappy sandals.
On Monday, Winter posted a series of photos on her Instagram account featuring not-so-cryptic captions like, “I’m excited for this new chapter in my love life- love is all around.. Family, friends, pizza… The old and the new.” The posts seemed to point to the fact that she and longtime love Laurent Claude Gaudette, who accompanied her to prom in the spring, had split.
