Looks like Tory Burch is suiting up for court yet again.
After surviving a contentious lawsuit and settlement with ex-husband Chris Burch in December, the fashion designer has entered another legal battle. Burch filed a lawsuit in New York on Friday against Bluebell Accessories for allegedly selling knock-offs with her signature "TT" logo, WWD reports.
Burch and subsidiary company River Light hired an investigator to purchase productshired an investigator to purchase products that bore an uncanny resemblance to her designs from Bluebell's website, and they issued a cease-and-desist letter over the counterfeit jewels. According to the lawsuit, Bluebell has responded to the legal action, but failed to provide documentation that illustrates "their purchases and sales to date, as well as the supplier of the counterfeit goods being sold.”
The wholesale accessories company may want to seek better counsel, as Burch is not likely to back down when it comes to protecting her intellectual property. In 2011, she was awarded a staggering $164 million in an anti-counterfeiting suit. And if the judgment rules in her favor this time, Burch stands to rack up. (Are you taking notes, Kardashians?)
