Demi Lovato's style is a far cry from that of her Disney contemporary Selena Gomez these days. Now a judge on "The X Factor," Lovato's been sporting a much edgier look -- thanks to a certain label.
The New York Times recently reported that Lovato has forged a friendship with Topshop's owner, Sir Philip Green:
After she landed the “X Factor” gig, he said, “we had one of my girls look after her to see how we could help develop her styling. She became a lot more interested in clothes generally.”
Usually brands take on stars as a means of advertising their product. But it looks like the Lovato-Topshop connection might serve to help the singer just as much as the retailer. Sir Philip Green reveals in this month's Haute Living that Topshop has made a mission to intervene in Lovato's look:
“We’ve been working with Demi quietly for the last six months,” Green confides. “We’ve been dressing her and helping to develop her. My guys have done a great job. We’re just helping out.”
Lovato's stylist, Soulmaz Vosough, is in charge of Topshop's personal styling. The former Disney star's look has certainly evolved; we wonder whether her look is a bit too heavily influenced by the store, though. Perhaps Vosough could help Lovato channel her personal style rather than the brand's aesthetic.
Lovato has dealt with a slew of personal problems lately. Now that things are looking up, do you think she should make her wardrobe a priority?
My, how these Disney stars have changed:
