Diagnosis: First, the good news: McCarthy’s hair is looking good. Now the bad news: That’s pretty much the only good thing about this outfit. The queen of body flaunting goes uncharacteristically covered up in this layered Gucci look. Since she’s a mom to a young son, we understand why she might want to rein things in a little bit, but a sharp right into “grandma” style territory is not the answer. It looks like she just piled on all the cool-weather separates in her closet (digging really deep for those elbow-length gloves). The belt is the final blow in this “death by accessories” situation.

Prognosis: Take it off! Ditch the moss-green sweater, gloves, belt and let some skin show. The teal pencil skirt, black lace tank and leopard T-bar pumps can stay. And if you’re looking for a sleek topper, try a structured blazer and save the cozy knits for movie nights with Donnie Wahlberg.
