Social Media Is Having a Field Day Over Loewe's Giant Bow Heels

Loewe is hosting a party - and providing the footwear. The luxury brand debuted its fall 2022 collection during Paris Fashion Week on March 4, and among the many surreal designs were pairs of silver sandals with oversize bows at the straps. In fact, Loewe describes the size of the bows as "chaotic" in a description on its website.

If the goal was to create a viral moment, Loewe succeeded. When Fashion Bomb Daily shared a video of the heels going down the runway, the comments quickly came, with someone saying the heels had "fashionable leftover vibes." Another commented, "Thought it was aluminum foil at first!" Bravo reality star Porsha Williams also chimed in, responding to the caption, which asked followers if they would ever wear the shoes: "Sure to go to grandma house to help with cable tv." Among the humor was also praise, however, and one person wrote, "I think they're so cute," adding, "A statement shoe."

The clothes weren't exactly subdued either: the show was meant to bear an "inflatable theme," and there were minidresses draped over toy cars, a mesh dress with a pair of red heels stuffed under at the bodice, balloon prints, and actual balloons tucked between fabric. There were resin details that brought to mind the work of American artist Jeff Koons, a favorite among the fashion set.

The show was attended by many famous faces, including Yara Shahidi, Alexa Chung, Ella Emhoff, and Tracee Ellis Ross, who wore a pair of slouchy denim ankle shoes that appeared in the collection. Loewe has a history of turning footwear on its head, and last year, it delighted the internet with the cracked-egg heels that appeared in its spring show.

Ahead, take a closer look at Loewe's latest headline-making heels.
