Shay Mitchell knows the ropes at Cannes. The actor attended the amfAR Gala during the star-studded film festival on May 25 wearing a custom Cult Gaia naked dress decorated with a series of intricately woven crystal cords. Beneath the sparkling silver rope, she wore a skin-tone bodysuit to help create a nude illusion, leaving the rest of her body completely bare. The sleeveless dress featured a high neckline, open back, and delicate train that trailed behind her as she walked.
Mitchell completed the daring look with diamond earrings to match the shine of her gown, along with glittery silver eyeshadow. "We may be in Cannes, but I brought a little New York," she said on her Instagram Story with hairstylist Danielle Priano. As a finishing touch, she wore towering silver platforms, letting her legs have their moment beneath the revealing design.
Naked dresses like Mitchell's have proven to be a fan favorite among celebs. The skin-baring trend consists of any see-through material, such as Megan Thee Stallion's rhinestone prom-inspired ensemble, or Ciara's thong-baring fishnet gown. These days though, naked dresses may even look a little more unconventional, like Nicole Scherzinger's transparent blue gown at the May 22 Magnum VIP Party, which also took place at Cannes.
