Mohawk and the city! Sarah Jessica Parker took the Punk: Chaos to Couture theme seriously at the 2013 Costume Institute Gala in New York City on Monday, May 6. The Sex and the City actress, 48, rocked a giant mohawk headdress, designed by Philip Treacy, down the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

"He's been working on it for the past few weeks and I feel incredibly fortunate that it is in my care and custody tonight," Parker told Vogue.com of her mohawk hat. "[The dress is] Giles Deacon," she added, noting that the designer came to NYC to personally "cut" the dress.
Underneath her punk rock gown, the fashionable A-lister styled plaid thigh-high boots. "We asked Mr. Louboutin to make these boots as a nod to the sort of plaid/flannel we think of when we think about that particular period," she shared.

To top it all of, Parker accessorized with Fred Leighton jewelry, "and a number of other vintage shops and pieces of junk that I've collected over the years."
"I wanted to pay attention to the theme," the red carpet stunner explained, "and embrace it."
